I started walking at an early age, my closest friends stayed pretty far from me and the easiest way for me to play with them was to walk long distances to go and greet them. The long distances probably made me a better thinker, I shared this insight with a friend once and he agreed, he quickly mentioned that he used to think he was the only one that thinks. As an adult, I found myself again walking long distances. Sometimes just to hold meetings we would circle round my office in Lagos, or a lake in the Bay Area. Now I still walk, even though not as often as I’d like but I do enjoy every bit. Maybe I’m addicted to it, my knees and time will tell.

After sports, the World Wide Web gave me the most insights into how the world outside my immediate environment works, I used to hustle, get some cash just to go surf the internet at the nearest business center. I’d combine my favorite verbs and add a www before it and a .com at the end of it and voila! It felt like magic.

The problem people have with wine is that it’s not as effective as the others when it comes to getting you drunk quickly and also it’s mode of transportation, wine glasses are not like scotch glasses, they’re somewhat not alpha masculine, you won’t enjoy grabbing it with your palms as much as if you do it with your fingers. Wine is serene and elegant, it’s also not as social as beer and liquor, so it’s overall more addictive than them. You can drink it alone in your parlor or on your balcony. Wine keeps you in your house.

The first time I encountered digital wallets on the web I was impressed, the only tool I was familiar paying with on the internet at the time was a bank’s internet banking portal, so when I saw something lightweight but just as effective for spending and keeping information on the internet, I knew I wanted to get deeper. Wit is a way of making light very serious situations, wit can save relationships, wit can strengthen bonds, wit can be used to tell stories that stick. One reason is probably the laughter that emanates from jokes, someone said comedians are the best story tellers, another person said laughter is the best medicine and I agree with both of them.

Words are like eggs, once they drop, you can’t pick them back. I like to think of programming as a way of communicating, so is public speaking, writing, painting and even music. Someone said an inability to communicate is the beginning of misfortune.

Waiting: I started programming with HTML, it took me two 2 years to learn other languages and push my first apps into production. A year later, during my internship at Wema Bank, I was able to deploy a couple more. After our final exams, some of us decided to stay back in Ilorin, my friend later convinced his dad to allow us deploy our library software in his school. I had to wait another 3 years to get my second contract. The next one came a year later, the next one after that, a month.
